Alternatives to Development:

Decolonisation Drawings

Commissioned for a workshop on on decolonising development aid, the drawings address the challenge of how to present text-heavy, potentially sensitive material.

We collaborated closely with each course convenor, engaging in a two-way exchange of ideas to shape the illustrations. Through this iterative process, we created drawings that uniquely reflected the intent of each module and presenter. This deeply human and intuitive collaboration was essential —something that AI tools could not replicate.

“The illustrations introduced humor and a touch of provocation, sparking curiosity while sidestepping divisive buzzwords. This approach helped foster a more open and constructive dialogue with participants”
